OVERVIEW

The Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2 6312 Wireless Console can be used as a replacement for your original Vantage Pro2 wireless console. It can also be used as an additional console for an existing wireless Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Vue weather station. A wireless console CANNOT be used with a cabled ISS. Click HERE if you have the Vantage Pro2 cabled ISS.

**Please note that the Davis 6312 is not compatible with the original Vantage Pro (Vantage Pro "1"). It will only work with the Vantage Pro2 or Vantage Vue line of products.

The back lit LCD panel readout is truly a wonder. It features wind speed and direction as well as the option of displaying the angle in degrees of wind direction. Outdoor and indoor temperature and humidity and a really accurate barometer. "But wait there's more." Almost more than I can name. Wind chill, heat index, and what seems to be a mash up of the two that makes sense in both winter and summer. Rain fall accumulation, rain fall rate, And totals for a rain event, day, month, and year. Highs and lows of everything selectable day by day, for the current and past months and current year. I haven't owned it long enough to know if and how many past months and years are available. The control panel is well laid out and clearly labeled. The operating system is easy to learn. The backup battery consist of 3 type C cells rather than the less substantial AA or AAA often found in other weather stations. All in all the system is well worth the money.

I paired this PRO 2 display with the Vantage Vue ISS. I am happy with the screen size, and it is easy to read once you learn to interpret the graphics, which is not hard. The graphing function leaves a little to be to be desired; scaling of the axes for the different weather variables is not on the axes themselves. So to interpret the actual change in the weather variable being graphed you have to look closely at the text notations below the graph to determine the scale. This works but isn't really handy; the Pro2 console is still a way better option than the Vantage Vue console, in my opinion.
